Sutton

Illinois Knights Templar Shining Star for September 2013

Jody Arndt has been selected the “Shining Star” for the month of September 2013. Jody is a CNA who has worked at IKTH since November 2012.

She resides in Gibson City but is originally from Chicago. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to music, crocheting, shopping, baking/cooking, and swimming when she has weekends off, enjoys visiting and helping her Dad out.

She has no children but has rescued two Chihuahuas and two cats that she calls her “fur-babies”. She says she enjoys working here because of the residents and the atmosphere. Residents have said that she has been by their bedside to help with every need.

Thank you, Jody, for being a “Shining Star” in our home and shining so brightly that it makes our home a real home.

Illinois Knights Templar Shining Star for August 2013

Kayla Doenitz is our Shining Star for August. She has been a CNA at IKTH for two years. She is enjoying meeting new people and making new friends while working here.

Kayla is engaged to and is planning her wedding in March 2014. In her spare time she loves to cook. Family members say that she makes every resident feel special. No matter how busy or hard the day is she has a smile. She goes the extra step of making sure a blanket is covering their legs if they are cold, and they have a different hairdo to make them feel pretty, perfume or cologne to make them smell nice, and just a kind word to make them feel special.

Illinois Knights Templar Shining Star for July 2013

Lisa started with our home 71/2 years ago in housekeepingand continues in that area.

She has a daughter, Mindy and a son Ryan. She loves our residents and says it is a good place to work with great staff. She likes cooking, baking and being with friends.

Residents have said she is happy and sees little items that need to be done.

Illinois Knights Templar Shining Star for June 2013

Adrianna has been a CNA at Illinois Knights Templar Home for 2 years. She loves the residents and co-workers.

She has 8 children, 5 girls and 3 boys. She lives in Rantoul and enjoys swimming, dancing and listening to music. Her co-workers have said she is a team player, a leader and is always smiling.

Illinois Knights Templar Shining Star for May 2013

Clywone Williams has been selected the “Shining Star” for the month of May 2013. She has been a certified nursing assistant for 27 years, and has been employed by Illinois Knights Templar Home for 1 year.

Clywone lives in Rantoul and has 3 children and 4 grandchildren. She likes the friendly atmosphere of Illinois Knights Templar Home and loves the residents.

Her co-workers have stated that she has insight and a keen mind and frequently uses humor to respond to a stressful situation. She can be counted on in a crisis situation to put both feet forward to make things better. She is truly a “shining star” and brings sunshine to the hearts of those she touches.

Illinois Knights Templar Shining Star for April 2013

Illinois Knights Templar Home has selected Barbara Sutton for the Shining Star for April, 2013. She has been an employee for 6 years as a cook, dietary helper, dietary aide.

Barbara lives in rural Loda with her husband Larry who is owner, operator of Sutton Construction with his son, Larry. Barbara also has a daughter Amy. Her spare time is working in her vegetable and flower garden.

Co-workers shared “Barb” is always willing to help out where needed. She goes above and beyond her duties to insure all residents are happy and needs fulfilled. Always willing to get them a special snack as requested.

Thank you Barbara for being our shining star, your smile and kindness shines throughout, to make our home a real home.




Kingston

Illinois Knights Templar Shining Star for March 2013

Illinois Knights Templar Home has selected Cindy Kingston for the Shining Star for March, 2013. She has been employed in housekeeping for 1 ½ years.

Cindy lives in Paxton and has a son that lives in Denver. Her spare time is spent going to flea markets, working in her yard and gardening.

Her co-workers shared “Cindy is always willing to work extra hours, does an excellent job making our home shine. She always has a smile for everyone.”

Laura Hicks

Shining Star Medical Records, Laura Hicks at Illinois Knights Templar Home

Illinois Knights Templar Home has selected Laura Hicks the “Shining Star” award for the month of February, 2013. This award recognizes staff members that go above and beyond their normal duties.

Laura has been with IKTH since May 2012 where she was hired as medical records clerk. She comes to us with 25 year experience in the healthcare field. She resides in Fisher where she has a 13-year-old son and an 18-year-old daughter who is out on her own and enjoys coming home for visits and home cooked meals. Laura says she knew she wanted to stay in the healthcare field after downsizing causer her to start looking for an alternative. She says she is enjoying getting to the staff and residents and the different challenges that she is able to talk on. Her number one passion is reading in her free time. She enjoys watching and supporting her son in his sporting events. When the weather is nice, she likes to hike or kick back and just relax.

Staff members have stated: “Laura is very organized, helps all departments when needed and is a good example of what character traits a “team player” possesses. She is a self starter, quick to learn, no task is too large for her. When answering the phone she understands that she is the first impression a person will receive about our home. She always has a smile and is very willing to assist anyone.

Kevin Hansen, our transportation driver at Illinois Knights Templar is the recipient of many awards for 2012.

January 2012 Shining Star Employee of the Month.

The nomination of this award is from the staff, residents and families of Illinois Knights Templar Home for going above and beyond to serve our guests.

June 2012 Hero in Long Term Care

December 2012, Shining Star Employee of the year and also Extra Mile Award Winner from the Paxton Area Chamber of Commerce.

As the Extra Mile Award Winner for the Paxton Area Chamber of Commerce, Kevin was nominated by Linda Tammen who said of Kevin “cheerfully transports so many people from Illinois Knights Templar Home to all their appointments. He is consistently patient, kind, thoughtful and never lets the work and responsibility get the best of him.”

Kevin is a shining example of our caring staff at Illinois Knights Templar Home where preserving the health, dignity, and happiness our residents is what makes our Home a home and our family of staff and residents a true family.
